Still trying to get a handle on working outside of an office. The consequences of deadlines are right up in your face—that machine that needs attachments attached needs them now because it's shipping out tomorrow on a truck that'll be parked across the warehouse, and everyone on the floor knows my place and responsibility in the process. So much of the actual work process is right in front of me where it used to be something I had to piece together from offhand mentions in emails and dubious bits of data. We're going from lore gathering and interpretation á la Dark Souls to a Tetris-like sense of where we are on a scale of fine to FUBAR.

The constellation of the Responsible Adult has been in the ascendant. I'd have walked more this weekend if there wasn't choking smog amidst the ash trees.
